Biography

Born and raised in Missoula, Montana, Lorenzo Gangi has become a sought after bluegrass musician in the Rocky Mountains. At the age of 17, Lorenzo began playing the banjo and quickly gained notoriety for his consistent ingenuity and stability. Always striving for good taste, tone and timing he lists Ron Block, Julie Elkins, Ron Stewart, Eric Uglum and the Gypsy Kings as his influences. After playing only a year, Lorenzo began performing professionally, touring, and recording with such bands as Rough Edges, Cold Mountain Rhythm Band, Rank Strangers, the Iron lasso, and most recently Hit & Run Bluegrass. In 2002 Lorenzo attended the acclaimed bluegrass and country music program at East Tennessee State University. An avid instructor and academic, Lorenzo teaches banjo from his home and at various workshops as well as being a software engineer and fine wine enthusiast. His new solo release "Fistful of Lonesome" was named one of the "Critics fave music of 05 " by the Missoula Independent and has been met with great recognition getting radio play in the United States and overseas.
